The Challenge:

In 2019, in collaboration with Anglia Ruskin University, the Southern University of Science and Technology in Shenzhen, and Chinese audiologist Yiting, TherapyAudit received Innovate Newton grant funding to develop a novel digital rehabilitation service for tone language speakers, e.g. Mandarin. TherapyAudit needed to partner with a Chinese digital agency to develop the online platform.

The Solution:

Appt worked with TherapyAudit to design and develop a minimum viable product, to get the platform to market quickly.

To start with Appt designed and developed an informative Chinese website, in time for the beetroot brand launch in China. Appt assisted with the ICP license application process, enabling TherapyAudit to have a website presence in mainland China.  

Once the website was live, attention turned to the cross-platform beetroot hearing test app. The app is accessible through the web and WeChat. TherapyAudit and its partners manage the app through an online management platform.

Appt also created a WeChat account and mini-page for the beetroot platform, which has the hearing test app embedded.

Appt is hosting the website and app on secure servers within China. Hosting in mainland China optimises the loading speed within China and ensures that the ‘Great Firewall’ does not block the site. The server is monitored and maintained 24-7.
